MAC’s NCAAF Team Total Plays
Pittsburgh Panthers
Pitt's first two non-conference opponents are both formidable. They host the West Virginia Mountaineers in Week 1. Both teams always perform at their best in the "Backyard Brawl." We don't know how good West Virginia really is since there will be a lot of fresh faces there. They will travel to Heinz Field in Week 2 to face Tennessee. Build-wise, Josh Heupel has done a fantastic job for the Tennessee program. Pitt's solid defense could struggle against the Vols' potent running attack. Following a game against Western Michigan, Pitt will visit Rhode Island to finish their non-conference campaign. Pitt will host Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, and Duke according to their ACC schedule. They will play away games in North Carolina, Virginia, Miami, and Louisville. Pitt has a favorable ACC schedule since they don't have to face North Carolina State, Clemson, or Wake Forest.
Despite losing Pickett, USC transfer Kedon Slovis could be a better player than Pickett. Slovis should have a strong season in this system as Pitt will likely keep throwing the football a lot. Pitt should have great skill players and an outstanding offensive line. The defensive line will be among the finest in the nation on the defensive side of the ball. The quarterbacks on the other team should find it challenging as a result. Pitt's secondary shouldn't be a particularly good squad, thus they might concede a lot of yards and scores if they can avoid the rush.

NC State Wolfpack
The WolfPack have an opportunity to start off well since their first two games—against Charleston Southern on the road and East Carolina at home—are both highly winnable. With a home game against Texas Tech in Week 3, things get a little tougher, but keep in mind that NC State went 7-0 at home last year. They will play UConn at home to end September with a chance to open October 4-0 and have a perfect month. The Wolfpack will likely have their greatest test when they travel to face the Clemson Tigers in the first week of October. We could be looking at a loss for NC State since I anticipate Clemson to be far better this year. After that, they will host Florida State before returning to the road to face Syracuse. October ends with another home game, which starts a run of 3 in a row for NC State in their own building, with that one coming against Virginia Tech.
As the season comes to a close, the Wolfpack will begin November with a crucial home game against Wake Forest. That contest may have significant significance for the Conference Championship. After that, they will host Boston College before traveling to face Louisville and UNC. When you look at the calendar, the matches against Clemson and Wake Forest immediately stand out. They are incredibly crucial since those 3 teams will probably be competing for the top slot in the Atlantic Division. The Wolfpack have a very strong chance of matching their 9 regular season victories from 2021, which would put them above the victory total.

Baylor Bears
The Bears had a 10-2 record in 2021, they benefited from Oklahoma's weak season previous year and had the advantage of playing the majority of their pivotal contests at home. In fact, last season, both of their regular-season losses occurred on the road, which might be problematic this year.
The first challenge for Baylor is a road trip to take on BYU in Week 2. They must also travel to face opponents from West Virginia, Oklahoma, Texas, Iowa State, and Texas Tech. Yes, some of them appear to be winnable, but there are also a number that appear to be quite difficult. The bookmakers have opened the Baylor Bears' win total for 2022 at 8, which may be due to their road schedule, but, it has dropped to 7.5 and for a good reason. If they can remain unbeaten at home, like they did last season, that would be six victories, so they will need to strive to pick up 2 more W's on the road and this could be very doable. I don't believe it is impossible for Baylor to win 8, but realistically, double-digit victories is expecting a bit much. Their schedule is just difficult enough that making the playoffs appears, at best, unlikely. In my opinion, they will likely take a small step backward in 2022, but they should still perform well enough to secure a prominent bowl game. Odds makers are making the public pay for the over, the juice is set at -150, this is a heavy price to pay and sharps say this could be a honeypot, this total will likely jump back to 8 in the weeks ahead.
Play: Over 7.5 -150
Clemson Tigers
The Tigers' early-season schedule appears to be much simpler than it was last year, when they faced a difficult test against the Bulldogs in the first week. Before returning home to play Furman and Louisiana Tech, they begin their season with a game against Georgia Tech at a neutral site, which they easily win. The Tigers will then end September with a challenging road trip to take on Wake Forest. Nevertheless, Clemson ought to have a 4-0 record going into October. Starting with a game against NC State at home in October, things get considerably tougher. That should be a victory, but the next two weeks will not be as simple due to road trips to face Florida State and Boston College. Both of those games can be won, but none of them is a slam dunk. They play at home against Syracuse to finish October before their bye week. Despite their prior struggles against the Orange, Clemson should prevail in this game.
There is a very high likelihood that the Tigers will remain unblemished into the bye week. That may change in their first game back since they have to go to Notre Dame, a team that is quite likely to be in the postseason mix. The fact that Clemson plays three of its final four regular-season games at home is a benefit. These contests are against SC, Miami, and Louisville. I believe there is a very strong probability that the Clemson Tigers might be undefeated in 2022 after looking at their schedule. Although we do need to keep in mind that they did have some difficulties last season, I believe they are at the very least looking at an 11-1 season. In the absence of serious injuries, anticipate Clemson to surpass the 10.5 win threshold and win the ACC and have a strong chance of making the playoffs.
