1:00 PM ET Cleveland at Baltimore
The Cleveland Browns have dropped their last three contests (1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall)., including getting thrashed by the New England Patriots at home 38-15. Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens have looked sluggish as well (5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss), blowing a fourth-quarter lead to the New York Giants, dropping their second game in their last three contests.
As a result of Sunday’s 38-15 home loss to the Patriots, the Browns are currently on a three-game losing run for just the second time under Head Coach Kevin Stefanski. One touchdown and three field goals were all that Cleveland’s offense could muster against a stout Patriots defense. Browns quarterback Jacoby Brissett threw two interceptions along with a touchdown for a total of 266 yards finishing with the lowest passer rating (54.5) he’s had all year. For the first time all season, the Browns’ running game was also held down, as they only managed 70 yards on 18 carries. The Patriots’ defense forced four turnovers and sacked Brissett four times. The Cleveland Browns defensive unit struggled as they conceded 38 points at home to the Patriots. In the end, Cleveland had just two sacks and forced one turnover. The Browns were unable to take advantage of their matchup with rookie quarterback Bailey Zappe and now rank 23rd in the NFL in total yards allowed per game (361.3).
The Ravens continuously shot themselves in the foot all day long in their 24-20 loss to the New York Giants. All three of their losses this year have seen them blow fourth-quarter leads. In terms of total yards, the Ravens outgained the Giants, 406-238, held Saquon Barkley to 83 yards on 22 carries, and limited Daniel Jones to 173 while grabbing four sacks. Ultimately, it wasn’t enough, and the Ravens dropped their third game of the season. The performance of the running game, and especially the offensive line was a major bonus in Sunday’s defeat. The Ravens have been dealt with some injuries and still had 211 running yards, with Kenyon Drake leading the way with a whopping 119 yards on ten carries. The Ravens’ offense averages 361.3 yards per game, ranking ninth in the NFL. Baltimore’s defense picked up four sacks and forced a turnover against the Giants, but they still lost 24-20. Overall, their defense allows 371.2 yards per contest, ranking 25th in the league. They’ll have a good chance to bounce back at home against a shaky Browns offense.
The Baltimore Ravens come into this matchup having rotated wins and losses up to this point. At home, they will have a good chance to bounce back against a Browns team that has lost three straight games. Unfortunately, they haven’t played well at home this year, winning just one of their first three contests.
Baltimore has had major fourth-quarter issues, and the Browns are desperate for a win but that is the norm for the Browns. In their last three contests against each other, the Browns have kept the game within six points. That being said, we can’t trust money on the Browns. They don’t have the most potent offense, and leaning on the running game is never a good idea against the Baltimore Ravens.
Play: Baltimore -6.5
Jacoby Brissett (CLE) Total Passing Yards - Under 218.5 Passing Yards -115
Jacoby Brissett (CLE) Total Interceptions - Over .5 Interceptions -120
